Shotgun, of course! I have been tempted to try with the bow, but I'm not that good!

I mainly use my Ruger M77 270 or Remington 760 30-06 (still-hunting) for deer hunting. But, I've killed them with shotguns before too. This year I'm gonna try out a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem.

After reading "nygobbler"s reply, I thought I'd better update mine. I thought we were talking about turkey hunting, so I replied shotgun. Of course for deer I use a rifle--7mm-.08, or muzzleloader or bow. Turkey is strictly shotgun--12 gauge and for the rabbits, it's a shotgun too---if I happen to take one. Most of the time I'd rather just watch and listen to the dogs chase the bunnies. Around here, we don't have an abundance, so we leave most for the dogs to chase and only harvest a few each season for the pot. Then there's target practice----I LOVE to shot a pistol! The 9mm is my favorite for making milk jugs fly, but if we're into competition amongst ourselves, I use my Ruger Competition .22---and usually win. (Where's a little smily face when you need one!)

Here in Jersey we can ONLY use shotguns, but we can use buckshot and slugs. I do hunt deer in PA and NY with rifle and do enjoy it. BUT by far, I prefer the bow!
